Not quite the result I was looking for on yesterdays Riponian Rally. The stages were so slippy, it took a while to get the confidence to push on. Very happy too match pace of Barry Lindsay on SS3. SS6 we thought diff had gone again but it turned out to be short shaft (usually when shaft goes I have no drive). Once our service crew found us, got fixed and managed to get to start SS7, bang on 15 mins late (max lateness). SS7 started well, then came to 1st hairpin, no handbrake quickly followed by not much of any brakes. This was prob good for me as we were still setting competitive times. Apart from lack of brakes everything was fine till SS11. Just when I had caught site of the car in front, came out of long open hairpin right, then snapped the long shaft, no drive, GAME OVER.
Thanks to Christopher Dodds for doing great job in silly seat, Paul Uren at NERallysport (and his helpers Rob Renwick, Josh Davison and Hannah McKillop) for keeping us in the rally as long as they did.
Special thanks to organisers and marshals who ran the rally in testing conditions
